MooGoo Fresh Cream Deodorant

During the Moo Goo + Dusty Girls Bloggers Luncheon, they touched on their MooGoo Fresh Cream Deodorant, and challenged us all to try it for 28 Days. Let’s just say, I am not one to turn down a challenge.

Moo Goo Natural Deodorant

I’d never really considered using a natural deodorant. Mainly due to fear. I’d heard stories of extra perspiration and being smelly for a few weeks and I thought NOPE not for me.

The MooGoo Fresh Cream Deodorant (RRP $8.50 – 60mL) is completely natural and 100% Aluminium Free. While there is no direct links to what effects aluminium has on humans over a long period of time, there are suspicions that it could be linked to breast cancer. Anti-perspirant deodorants can also block your pores in your armpits and prevent perspiration from happening (duh). But when you have more of a think about this, it’s kind of scary. Perspiration is sweat and toxins that WANT to leave your body, and you are trying to keep those things in? Hmm.

I was quite impressed with the short ingredient list, and the naturally derived ingredients live up to the name.I thought I’d copy it here straight from the website so you can see my point.

Aqua, Magnesium Hydroxide (Milk Of Magnesia), Xantham Gum (Food Grade Thickener), Backhousia Citriodora Leaf Oil (Aussie Lemon Mytrle), Zea Mays (Corn) Seed Flour, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract.

Now, onto the road test. I’m not going to lie to you. It was tough going for around ten days. The MooGoo team recommends applying it in the morning and letting it dry before getting dressed.

Day 1. A few hours after I applied the MooGoo Fresh Cream Deodorant, I am sweating like crazy and I feel as though I am pretty smelly. The girls at the event assured me this was completely normal while the toxins made their sweet escape. Still doesn’t help my self confidence when I walk past people in the shop.

Day 5. The smell has subsided (phew!) but I am still sweating a lot. At this stage, I am applying it maybe three times a day. And it’s Winter. Yikes!

Day 10. Relief! Things are starting to look up around this time. No smell whatsoever, and my perspiration levels are going down. I still apply twice a day at this point.

Day 20. Ok. I’m hooked on this stuff. I apply in the morning, and if I am doing a gym sesh, I’ll apply it again, but other than that, life is sweet.

I am definitely going to continue using this product. It’s pretty scary to have a look at deodorant ingredient lists that I was using for YEARS and thinking about those things soaking into my skin, blocking my pores and possibly putting my life at risk. A MEGA HUGE THANK YOU to the Moo Goo team for this opportunity.

Will you take the #28DayMooGooDeodorantChallenge?

I think i may need to look into testing out this product. I have has issues with my underarms for the past year, and recently they got so inflamed I was in tears. They don’t know whats causing it but pretty much Im red raw every other week, so normal deodorant BURNS. Where can you purchase them from?

That sounds awful Tash, you poor thing! They only place I think is online from their website, but it’s well worth ordering. I find it quite soothing to wear so maybe this is your answer! Good luck!

  • I’m loving going Natural as well. I have done it in the past and just by habit, went back to normal deodorant. This is by far the best natural one I have used!! <3
