MAC Plumful Dupe

posted in: BEAUTY, MAKEUP | 13

I always love finding a new dupe, especially when MAC lipsticks cost $36 a pop! So when I found not one, but two MAC Plumful Dupe options, I just had to share it with you!

I’ve adored MAC Plumful (RRP $36.00) for years after I saw Essiebutton rave about it on her YouTube channel. I’ve done a full review here, but the TL;DR is it’s a lustre finish, and it’s a ‘rose plum’ shade. Of course, we all know MAC lipsticks have a vanilla scent, and the lustre finish is a smooth slightly sheer lip finish.

The first budget option is the Max Factor Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipstick in 60 Evermore Lush (RRP $23.95). I did a review on this shade not too long ago hereYou can see that it’s slightly warmer than the original shade. It also doesn’t feel quite as comfortable on the lips as the MAC lipstick, but it’s better than average. The scent is fruity which is a nice change from the vanilla scent of MAC. This lipstick also tends to last a little longer than the original MAC lipstick, but only by an hour or two.

The second budget option is the Rimmel London The Only 1 Lipstick in It’s A Keeper (RRP $15.95) You can see a review of this shade and others here. This shade is slightly more pink than the original but it’s a minimal difference. It actually feels MORE comfortable to wear than the MAC shade (it feels smoother and creamier on the lips) and has a light fresh scent that most Rimmel lipsticks have. This lipstick also lasts longer than the original by a few hours. My only qualm with this one in comparison to the MAC is that because it’s a creamier consistency, it’s a wee bit more difficult to apply neatly. But at more than half price, I am willing to over look this one small fault.

Have you got MAC Plumful or the dupes in your collection?

  • Omg I have Its a Keeper – awesome! I was sooo close to buying Plumful when I was in the US, but I tried it on and it seemed kinda average? And possibly a bit too pink, I wanted it to be more plum! Still a pretty shade but couldn’t be bothered to fork out the money. Don’t have to now! Haha 😛

Because of the sheer finish they definitely look different on various skin tones and lip colours! They look pink in the swatches but on the lips mine can look a bit more plummy than pink. It really depends! Now you can try with It’s a Keeper anyway 😀 Thanks for reading Tash 🙂 <3 X

  • Those dupes are great, the shade is perfect for the upcoming spring!

Definitely do! Because it’s more of a sheer finish, these colours pull really differently on people, so make sure to give them a quick swatch to make sure you like it with your skin tone! 🙂 x Thanks for reading!
