The June Edit: Fitness, Minimal Bujo-ing and Routines

posted in: LIFESTYLE | 14

I am pretty late with this monthly update, but I figured, better late than never. So let’s get into June’s activities!

Yep I’m going to talk about fitness again. I really found my groove in June for fitness. I was heading to the gym 4 times a week, and also found a new love in KX Pilates classes on top of that. And on my day’s off, yoga at home. Since June 30 I really fell off the horse (will get into that on my next update) but with renewed energy, I am keen to get back to my routine of gym, yoga/foam rolling and I am signing up to another month of pilates at the end of the month to do in August! If you’d like to learn more about KX Pilates and my experience, let me know in the comments and I might be able to do a blog post on it!

Minimal Bujo-ing

When I first began bujo-ing I was swept up in the gorgeous, detailed spreads, stickers, washi tape and basically a decorative journal style. I kept this up for a few months last year, but I simply don’t have time for it. I still enjoy bullet journalling, but now in a more functional and minimal style. I also used to take a Sunday afternoon setting up the week for my planning (and longer for other spreads) but since using it more functionally, I take maybe half an hour drawing up a full month’s spreads. I’m thinking of doing a post on my current set up, so let me know if you’d be interested to see!

Something that I really was focused on in June was getting into a routine. Work, Blog, Gym, Repeat. I find that I really strive on routine, which is awesome. I got into a really great routine involving meal prepping, organising, cleaning, and gym/workouts. But unfortunately, a toe out of line can really eff a few weeks of my life (more about this in July’s edition). So my current aim is to get back into my routine that worked so well for me.

What did you get up to in June?

  • Don’t be hard on yourself for getting off the fitness bandwagon. I go through cycles, and I’m finally back on the bandwagon! I think it comes back to routine. I think if you put it part of your weekly routine you’re less like to miss a session x

    • Kate Flint

Yeah that’s it, I’ve been on and off the bandwagon for years, so at least only a week or two off routine is better than months at a time (which has happened previously) πŸ™‚

  • Getting into a routine is so important! I’m trying to get out of the habit of going to sleep late and sleeping in because I work in the afternoon/nights. It’s not going exceptionally well, but I’m trying haha

Trying is the first step before succeeding Emma, you can do it! πŸ™‚

Love this catch up! Routine is so important, but I agree, It only takes one toe out of line to mess it all up :/

It’s annoying isn’t it! More incentive to stay focused I suppose!

  • You are so beautiful Love this post, you inspired me to focus more on my routine.

  • Your hair is looking fabulous! I love it ! I am with you on the fitness.. im so far off the wagon, I’ll be fit by the time I catch it again hahaha <3

  • Aleney de Winter

I’d be lost without my daily routine. Now I’m in the zone, it’s getting easier and easier.

  • Анита

I am kinda jealous of you. I’ve pushing myself into fitness for so long and can’t do it more then two days in a row.. πŸ™

  • Yes! I’d love to see a post on your bullet journaling style! I’ve heard so much about this but am yet to try πŸ™‚

  • Lovely catch up Kate!! Oh those pretty Bujo spreads take FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m not really using mine as a Bujo, but more as a travel journal (if only I travelled more! haha) I will have to put a post of it up on IG soon from my Vanuatu trip!! It has polaroids and little illustrations and a few memories of the things we got up to!!

  • Love a good bujo post so I’m up for that! πŸ™‚

  • Loved this little life update! I’d love to see your minimal BJ layout. I have gone back to original agendas since I really like yearly planning and having the dates ahead of time. It’s so awesome you’ve been getting to the gym 4x a week! I’ve been so slack with my membership. With study it’s been so hard to balance it all but I am doing bridge to Brisbane at the end of August. Great post! xx
