Easy Vegan Pancakes

posted in: LIFESTYLE, VEGAN | 4

I always thought vegan pancakes would include random things like Flaxseed Eggs, bananas, vegan protein powder, etc.

But I found this great recipe that is a super basic vegan pancake recipe with things you have in your cupboard already!

These aren’t overly healthy, but when you’re eating a plant based diet 99% of the time, a treat once in a while can be had!

1 1/4 Cups Plain Flour

2 Tablespoons White Sugar

2 Teaspoons Baking Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1 1/4 Cups Water

1 Tablespoon Oil (I used coconut oil)

  1. Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Make a well and add wet ingredients. Stir just until blendy, but make sure there aren’t any lumps of flour!
  2. Heat a lightly oiled frypan over medium heat. Pour batter in small circle shapes and cook until bubbles form and the edges are dry. Flip, and cook until browned on the other side. Repeat with remaining batter.

Best teamed with chopped strawberries, figs and a slather of Maple Syrup!

I knew somebody who was vegan who made pancakes out of flour and water so I always thought they sounded absolutely disgusting but this is a much better alternative. Do they taste like regular pancakes? Cause I wouldn’t have thought the the ‘un-vegan’ ingredients would really taste much different.

  • I love pancakes so much! I feel like I could eat them all the time but as you said neither these or the “typical” non-vegan ones are the healthiest but every once in awhile, a person can treat herself, right? Haha for an everyday basis, I make pancakes with only three/four natural ingredients but those aren’t vegan, are just a healthier version to the typical non-vegan ones 🙂 Lovely suggestion! I hope you have a nice day xx
