Cruelty Free Brows

posted in: BEAUTY, MAKEUP | 12

I’ve been on the search for more cruelty free makeup products of late, as I am hoping to completely switch out my collection for CF one day. Something that I do have down to a tee is my brows.

Cruelty-Free-Brows

I will put a small disclaimer here, that some of these products mentioned, while Cruelty Free, are owned by larger companies that overlook brands that are not Cruelty Free. I am of the personal opinion that we should still support these brands, so show these large companies on the merits of being against animal cruelty. -K.

I always start my brow routine with a brow pencil, to trace out the main shape of the brow and detail in the ‘fluffy front’ for lack of a better term. I’ve been absolutely loving the NYX Cosmetics Micro Brow Pencil in Chocolate (RRP $16.95). The super fine tip and great colour pay off are exactly what I look for in a brow pencil.

For a more defined and strong brow look, I always opt for the Chi Chi Brow Pomade in Soft Brown (RRP $14.95). The pomade glides on smoothly, but a little goes a long way, so go in light! It’s easier to add more than to take away 😉

For days where I opt for a softer brow, I love using the Ardell Brow Defining Kit (RRP $19.99)Not only does it have some lovely brow shades, but it also has a lovely highlighter shade to help contour the eyes. The kit also comes with a Brow Grooming Pencil, a wax pencil that helps keep those crazy wiry brows from creeping up your face. Please tell me I’m not the only that has this issue!

While I am no way near in reaching my goal for a completely cruelty free makeup collection, it makes me feel accomplished to find options bit by bit.

Would you consider making your brow routine cruelty free?

Haha nice! I never really got on the Gimme Brow train, which is lucky considering it could be hard to find a CF dupe for it 🙁

  • Great post, I didn’t know the chi chi brow pomade was CF, thanks for sharing!

I am slowly using it up, but it still has a long way to go! I think I need to do the old microwave revive trick 😛

      • Becomingtashh

I have never heard of that trick! Mines starting to get a teeeeeeeny bit dry. its like a catch 22 though, its last FOREVER but you can’t really use it forever cause that shit expires.

  • I love Chi Chi pomade! My go to brow products are the pomade, Benefit Goof Proof and Gimmie Brow.

Nice! I never really got on the Gimme Brow train, it always made me look a bit odd 🙂 Everyone raves about it though!

  • Love Love Love! I have been using Sportsgirl brow powder and an Australis pencil, But I think I may need to check the correct certification of Sportsgirl begin full cruelty free :/

    • Kate Flint

I think from memory that Sportsgirl is CF but can never be too sure! 🙂 If they are I need to pop in and have a look!

I definitely need to try out some brow pomades. I definitely want to try a bunch of brow stuff from nyx and the chichi brow pomade as well as the tinted brow gel.
