5 Ways to Make your Sunday More Productive

A Sunday well spent brings a week of content. A saying that comes to mind every time the best day of the week rolls around. I treasure those cosy Sundays where you stay in bed all day eating pancakes. Lately though, I’ve found that productive Sundays have really helped me kick the week ahead’s arse!

Here are my top 5 ways to help use your Sunday effectively to be more productive.

Plan for the week

Seems obvious, but writing down your deadlines and appointments for the week ahead really sets a focus for what’s coming up. I like to sit down with my Bullet Journal and suss out my daily spreads and look over/add in anything that is needed.

Meal Prep

Since I’ve begun meal prepping more regularly, it makes my week so much easier. I don’t just stop at the obvious either (breakfast, lunch and dinner). I count out my snacks for the week, prepackaging and storing in the cupboard or the fridge. Lately I’ve been snacking on portions of roasted almonds and edamame pods. Both of these snacks keep my full and satisfied between meals, and give that crunch requirement at 3pm. If you’re interested in having a look at my Meal Plan, stay tuned! Again – seems obvious. But doing the little things like changing your sheets, generally tidying your room or house, and ensuring that you’ve got enough clean knickers for a week can really set your mind at ease. My favourite thing on Sunday night is slipping into new, cosy sheets to enjoy for the week ahead.

Read your Favourite Blogs

Something I enjoy on a Sunday is sitting down on the couch and enjoying a few of my favourite bloggers posts and catching up. There’s nothing like saving up a week of good content to devour on a Sunday afternoon, tea or coffee in hand. And maybe a cheeky (vegan) bickie.

Pamper Session

Another Sunday favourite of mine is a mini-pamper session. A nice long bath (glass of Sav optional) with a lush bath bomb, followed by washing hair, shaving, all that stuff that I can’t be bothered to do on a weekday. Then hop out, moisturise, paint your nails and kick back with a book or podcast. It’s very therapeutic for me to take some me time on Sunday, and enjoy some much needed TLC.

      No worries T! I’ve had my fair share of unproductive Sundays but the last 4 or so have been the best day of my week for productivity!

  • Wow you meal plan to the extreme! We literally plan out our dinners and thats it. I’m a bit iffy about reheating food/freezing somethings so cook most nights.

      Some things you have to be careful with keeping in the fridge/freezer. Rice for example is not good to freeze, and corn longer than three days cooked can be a big no-no. But most things keep really well, especially when their vegan – less chance of spoilage!

          I learnt that the hard way! Word of warning – after cooking corn, eat it immediately. Otherwise you spend the night wrapped around a toilet bowl.

  • I LOVED this post! You should totally do more like this. I’ve been really trying to organise my life recently and cutting out all the time wasting stuff I do so I would love to learn more! I agree with everything you said too. As I’m a SAHM meal prep isn’t really a need for me but most Sundays I will usually write out a menu for the week which makes the weekly shop more organised. I also love to catch up on blog posts as well!

      • I find it helps me to make sure nothing is getting wasted too. I’m so bad at buying fresh fruit and veg and never using it lol!!

  • These are amazing! Sometimes I feel like I have really lazy weekends but I still managed to get a week of content all done. I usually like to do my housework on friday night because it means I can have a weekend all to myself 🙂

  • Bullet Journalling has been incredible for me. I used to try keep it all in my brain or write a million lists all over the place. The BuJo format has simplified everything for me.

      It makes such a huge difference doesn’t it! I went down the road of the fun, decorative Bullet Journaling for a while but the upkeep and time it took kind of defeated the purpose of it all. I still appreciate the amazing spreads people come up with my bujo is more of a brain dump so it’s out of my head!
